YOU are a Brand!

I haven't been blogging as much as I intended, but it has been for a good reason. I've been working on bettering myself personally and professionally. I know you maybe thinking blogging is good for professional development, especially for someone who is struggling to break into the  world of marketing communications. I completely agree, but I can't sit over here crying over spilled milk. All I can do know is start from today and that what I'm doing.

I am current working temporarily at an accounting firm in their marketing department. I am learning a lot, but I don't think it's the best fit for me. So I'm in  the process of developing a personal branding plan. If I can successfully market products and services, why can't I do the same for myself. Well, I can!

Brand Yourself is a great guide to creating an identity for career success. It gives many different examples and career situations. You will at least find one that will fit your situation perfectly. This book also has several activities to get a better understanding of yourself so you can present yourself with confidence. In turn, this confidence will get you a recognition, promotion or JOB you've been seeking. I would definitely recommend the book for anyone that has laid-off, in a job transition, or starting their own business. TWO THUMBS UP!
