N.W.A. - "Express Yourself"
I was looking for this particular video to feature in this posting for today's Music Monday selection because with the Presidential election it seems very fitting to me. I chose to use the MTV video for this particular song because I was highly disturbed to find that VEVO blurs out the words "I HAVE A DREAM" on the paper sign N.W.A. bursts through at 0:20. I find it really ironic that VEVO is censoring visual imagery in a video for a song titled "Express Yourself. Anyway, how are those words offensive? Why would they censor those particular words in the first place? If anyone knows why these words are censored in this video, please feel free to let me know in the comment section. I really want to know.
With all this censorship going around, both blatantly and subtly, it's even more important to get out and vote. Express yourself and let your voice be heard. Remember to vote and have a Happy Music Monday!
