Music Monday Edition
Lupe Fiasco is a true hip-hop artist who brings truth through music along with thought provoking messages.
His latest single "Bitch Bad" allows us to see how word usage in music
influences our reality. Not only the song itself is great, the music
video paints a picture of what is really going on with music and perceptions.
"Bitch Bad" is Lupe's second single off of his upcoming album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. It will be available online and in stores September 25, 2012. To get the lasted on Lupe Fiasco visit www.lupefiasco.com.

I'm the first to admit that I'm guilty of listening to a lot of trash that is claiming to be real hip-hop, but I have the mental capacity to know the difference between right and wrong, and good and bad. I listen to a wide scope of music to know what's out there, and to stimulate my inner thought processes from well-rounded perspectives to formulate my own opinion.
What I do is truly a challenge. It is so hard to find a variety of topics and perspectives in music today. Mostly all of the popular songs with heavy promotion from the backing of big money entities talk about the same stuff, money, women, clothes and drugs.
For those who want more from music, must seek it out, and I really doubt many would do that considering we live in a society where the majority accepts what is given without a fight or challenge. Our society is being tainted with the strong influence of music under the guise of reality. This so-called hip-hop flooding our lives is creating a society of robots that value the messages and concepts they are given. This is exactly what Common was talking about in "Universal Mind Control". A lot of people probably missed the message, but you can't be too blunt with the truth because your message will not be heard to the masses. The sad truth is the less truth is spoken, the better and wider distribution of the message.
